Alice in Wonderland: Attraction Spotlight

Fast Facts

Location: Fantasyland, Disneyland

Opening Date: June 14, 1958

Height requirement: None

Who it’s for: The whole family!

Ride Length: 4 minutes

DISNEYLAND EXCLUSIVE – You won’t find versions of this ride in any other Disney Park.

The Alice in Wonderland attraction at Disneyland invites you to “Take a topsy-turvy trip into the nonsensical world of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland aboard an oversized caterpillar.” (Disneyland Website)

This ride is a classic attraction that delights all ages. We definitely recommend this ride for families, as the wonderment of seeing kids’ favorite characters come to life never disappoints. With a short overall ride time, you don’t have to worry about the kids getting restless or needing to use the restroom while on the ride.

It’s not just for kids though! The dramatic reveal or popping out of the attraction above Fantasyland never gets old. Getting to see the park from a different vantage point is always interesting and this ride provides a unique view from above.

The Official Word

If you’re interested in the official spiel, here’s how Disney’s site describes the attraction:

You’re Late for a Very Important Date
Wind along a curving path surrounded by surreal sights, dazzling colors and madcap music as you retrace the steps of Alice and her adventures in Wonderland.

Glide through the White Rabbit’s House, Tulgey Wood and the Queen’s Garden. Encounter Wonderland locals The Mad Hatter, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, The Cheshire Cat and more.

Down and down you go, until you come face-to-face with the Queen of Hearts, who cries “Off with their heads!”

Can you escape in time to make it to the “unbirthday” party, where you’re the guest of honor? Curiouser and curiouser!

Lizzie’s Take

Alice In Wonderland is one of my favorite attractions in Fantasyland. It has all the elements of a great dark ride

Randy’s Take

I’ve always loved the Alice in Wonderland ride. Some of my early memories of going to Disneyland include popping out the doors on the second floor and looking down at everyone. You used to feel like you were almost floating above the While they’ve added more structure around the track over the years, it still is a great ride with plenty of magical experiences.
