Avatar Flight of Passage: Animal Kingdom Attraction Spotlight

Fast Facts

Location: Pandora, Animal Kingdom

Opening Date: May 27, 2017

Height requirement: 44″

Who it’s for: Kids, Teens, Adults

Ride Length: 6 minutes

Avatar Flight of Passage is one of the most popular attractions in Animal Kingdom for many reasons. The queue for the attraction has many themed elements that add to the experience of the overall attraction. When you reach the front of the line, you will enter a chamber with 16 people where you load on to your Banshee.

You will wear a set of 3D glasses on this attraction while riding on a Banshee over Pandora. This 3D experience movie lasts around 6 minutes and in that time you will have incredible views of Pandora. Many riders also like to note that it feels as if you are riding on a real Banshee!

This attraction is unlike any others at Animal Kingdom and well worth trying out.

The Official Word

If you’re interested in the official spiel, here’s how Disney’s site describes the attraction:

Amazing Aerial Adventures Await

Board your own mountain banshee and embark on a thrilling expedition, where interstellar explorers like you get an up-close look at this moon’s incredible landscape.

Bonding with a banshee is a crucial step in the life of a Na’vi hunter on Pandora—and flying on the back of one of these powerful creatures is an important rite of passage.

Now, as a visitor to Pandora, you finally have the chance to test yourself like a Na’vi!

Lizzie’s Take

This attraction is usually a must-do for most people I know, however, I typically will skip this one given the choice. This ride unfortunately leaves me feeling motion sick most of the time. I would recommend trying it out if you have never been on it before. But be aware that if riders prone to motion sickness may feel this one like I do.
