The American Adventure: Epcot Attraction Spotlight

Fast Facts

Location: American Pavilion, World Showcase, Epcot

Opening Date: October 1, 1982

Height requirement: None

Who it’s for: The whole family!

Ride Length: 29 minutes

Fun Fact: It took Imagineers 5 years to complete this attraction and there are 10 animatronic sets stored under the stage for the show.

Narrated by Mark Twain and Benjamin Franklin animatronics, this 29 minute show is a tribute to all things American history. The show itself is located inside a 1000+ seat theater in the American Pavilion of Epcot. Throughout the show animatronics come onstage to narrate the current events of their time. You will likely recognize many of these historic figures as they all have key pieces of American history to tell.

The presentation itself features 35 animatronics, several songs, and a film presentation. Be sure to take note of the 12 statues as you walk into the theater — they are the personified versions of American values.

Lizzie’s Take

It took me several trips to Walt Disney World before we did this attraction — and I can’t believe it took me so long! I had absolutely no idea that this show was so huge with so many animatronics. I’d definitely recommend seeing this as it’s so well put together and offers a great amount of American history. And as a bonus, you’ll have about 30 minutes out of the heat or rain depending on the weather.
