5 Must Have Apps to Make Your Social Media Stand Out

In the past few months I can’t tell you how many apps I’ve tried and been disappointed in. With so many apps requiring you to pay for every single little thing that don’t seem to be worth the trouble. As I continue to explore more recommendations and try out more apps I feel like I have a better idea of what I really need in any given app.

I’ve compiled a list of my top 5 apps that have really made my social media stand out! All of these apps have free versions with paid additions if you need more advanced capabilities. All of these apps are worth a try in my opinion and can help to up your game on the social media front.

1. A Color Story

I love all the fun photo filters and effects available on this app. My favorite effects are the light leaks and confetti. It just makes pictures so adorable! They have a lot of free filters and effects with the initial version you can get with added on paid filter and effects.

Here’s something I just made with A Color Story:

2. A Design Kit

If you’re looking for fun stickers to add to you photos and fun fonts this is definitely the app for you! I really love all the fun doodle-like stickers because they can add such a fun element into any photo. The other great feature of this app is that it gives you access to different brushes so you can sketch onto you photos as well.

I may have went sticker crazy on this one, but you get the idea:

3. Canva

Before I started my blog and started my Pinterest account I never really thought to find an app that could create images with text on them. As a beginner in this kind of image creation I was really thankful that Canva has pre-made templates to get started with. They even offer a ton of images and graphics for free. If you are looking for a deeper collection of images and graphics they also allow you to purchase credits which will give you access to a larger library.

I currently use Canva to make all my featured images for blog posts as well as all my Pinterest images. For example:

4. Aviary

Many photo editing apps that I’ve come across have been pretty generic and tend to have paid versions that aren’t worth the money. I started using Aviary as a suggestion from a friend and have come to love it. It gives you all the basic features and then some. Of course there are paid portions but I’ve found that I can do most of what I need to do on the free version.

Here’s what the app interface looks like. All the tools are easy to find on the bottom:

5. Tailwind App

I recently blogged about my love for this app in a recent post so you may already know how much I love it. Tailwind has truly made my life so much easier in terms of scheduling and posting content on Instagram and Pinterest. For Instagram they have a Hashtag Suggesting tool as well as a Smart Scheduler. As soon as you have the perfect post it’s easy to pop it into Tailwind and post away!

Here’s an example of what creating a caption with the hashtag finder looks like:
